If you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell call the CommWell Health Coronavirus helpline at 910-567-7114 before visiting any CommWell Health location. CommWell Health Coronavirus Helpline is available: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm and Friday 8am-1pm.

Update on CommWell Health's response to the Coronavirus / COVID-19 situation. All CommWell Health will now be Telehealth video call appointments.

Effectively immediately, CommWell Health will be implementing new hours of operation until further notice:

Medical and Behavioral Health Hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8am - 5:30pm | Wednesday: 8am - 5pm | Friday: 8am - 1pm.

Dental Hours: 

As the situation surrounding COVID-19 continues to evolve, we regret that we currently cannot welcome new dental patients. However, please check with us often as we continue to evaluate our dental hours of operation and services. We are in the process of welcoming you back to our dental clinics under the safest possible conditions in the near future.

CommWell Health Telehealth:

CommWell Health Medical and Behavioral Health services will now be Telehealth video call appointments. If you do not have access to internet or a device with a camera you can still have your virtual telehealth appointment with your CommWell Health provider.  

At your next Telehealth appointment: 

  1. Drive to your appointment at your CommWell Health location
  2. Call the phone number on the front door of the practice location
  3. Inform the Guest Services Associate (GSA) you have arrived for your telehealth appointment. 
  4. The GSA will provide you with an Ipad in the parking lot so you can have your virtual telehealth appointment and see your provider.

  • The NCDHHS has a list of COVID-19 testing locations found here https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/about-covid-19/testing
  • NCDHHS issued updated guidance on who should be tested for COVID-19. The new guidance recommends that clinicians test any patient in whom COVID-19 is suspected. The new guidance recommends clinicians ensure certain populations have access to testing, regardless of symptoms, including:

    • Anyone with symptoms suggestive of COVID-19

    • Close contacts of known positive cases, regardless of symptoms 

    • Persons who live in or have regular contact with high-risk settings (e.g., long-term care facility, homeless shelter, correctional facility, migrant farmworker camp)

    • Persons who are at high risk of severe illness (e.g., people over 65 years of age, people of any age with underlying health conditions)

    • Persons who come from historically marginalized populations

    • Health care workers or first responders (e.g. EMS, law enforcement, fire department, military)

    • Front-line and essential workers (grocery store clerks, gas station attendants, etc.) in settings where social distancing is difficult to maintain
